He joined KPMG in 2014 as part of the acquisition of the mining and utilities-focused consultancy Momentum Partners. Matt now works with utilities and heavy asset businesses on cost reduction, operational safety, procurement, technology, integrated activity planning, strategy and customer engagement.
As the national Power & Utilities sector leader in Australia, Matt works across the power, water and renewable energy portfolios. Prior to this role, Matt led KPMG’s water portfolio where KPMG achieved significant brand and market growth. He regularly presents at national utilities conferences on trends in the utilities sector.
Matt is also the Geographic Leader for Management Consulting in South Australia. KPMG's SA Consulting team serves clients across all sectors with professional capabilities in transformation, customer & operations, corporate services and technology consulting.
Matt started his career in the communications industry, with a PhD in communications policy and 7 years in executive roles within the Optus Group. At the time, the telco industry was being disrupted through the introduction of new infrastructure, technologies, competitors and products, and Matt was part of the senior leadership team that achieved the industry’s highest rankings in customer satisfaction. He brings insights from this time to the current energy transition.
