KPMG in the UK

Saima sits in the ESG Strategy Group at KPMG UK. She has supported businesses with setting their sustainability strategies and identifying their climate risks. Saima is a part of the Official UK Youth Delegation for COP28, directly feeding into the UK negotiations.

Saima is a Committee Member for the Leaders 2050 network - a KPMG-led network focusing on young professionals’ voices for a sustainable future with over 2,500 members in the UK and has expanded to over 14 countries worldwide. Saima is also the KPMG representative for the Social Mobility Foundation ESG working group. She is a speaker and Emerging Leaders Committee Member for Anthropy23 and was a Youth Delegate and speaker at TED Countdown 2023.

As a passionate advocate for Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (IDE), Saima played a fundamental role in the Leaders 2050 Diversity for Net Zero series with the MCA recognising the report as a ‘cutting-edge’ piece of thought leadership to provide companies with a framework for including IDE in climate-related decision-making. She also co-led the Leaders 2050 Net Zero Influencers series, developing a framework to incorporate young professionals’ perspectives at leadership levels. 

Saima is a practising Muslim woman of South-Asian heritage and a first-generation university graduate; thus, is passionate about elevating the voices of these under-represented groups both in corporate and environmental spaces whilst sharing personal experiences. She is an avid mentor for young people from these backgrounds. Saima is also a Committee Member of 2 Billion Strong – an organisation dedicated to elevating the voices of Muslims in mainstream climate discussions. In 2023, Saima was named one of EqualityX's Top 50 Influential Muslims in Europe. 

Saima has previously held positions at the House of Commons, HM Treasury, Ofgem, and CEER.
