Megan is a Senior Manager in the Passthroughs Group for KPMG’s Washington National Tax practice. The Passthroughs Group is responsible for providing advice to KPMG professionals and clients regarding the federal taxation of partnerships, real estate investment trusts, and S Corporations across all major industries.

Professional and Industry Experience

Megan focuses on clients in the energy and natural resource space including Master Limited Partnerships as well as private equity. She regularly consults on compliance, mergers, acquisitions, disguised sale analysis, allocations and calculations related to section 704(c) and 743(b), partnership agreement interpretation and writing memorandums and opinions related to partnership transactions.  She has also advised on IPOs related to Master Limited Partnerships and the impact to the sponsors including identification of qualifying income and shield analysis. Recently, Megan has focused on firm tax reform initiatives and technology development such as modeling the impact to clients due to new sections 199A and 163(j).  

In addition to tax consulting, Megan instructs both internal firm training and external client training sessions.  She has written both internal and external publications related to passthrough issues. 

Prior to joining KPMG, Megan was with another Big Four firm where she assisted in development of software used to generate partnership allocations for MLP K-1s including writing technology requirements and testing expected results to implement appropriate Subchapter K allocations including remedial allocations, basis adjustments and redemptions. 

Megan is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Texas and a member of the AICPA.
