Professional and industry experience
In his current role, Robert advises clients on issues that arise with regards to accounting methods and credits. His experience includes identifying and leading projects surrounding:
- Tax planning opportunities related to tax reform concentrating on various accounting methods for income and expenses;
- Fixed assets analysis and computations including recently helping companies to implement the Tangible Property Regulations;
- The Research and Development Tax Credit including assisting clients with IRS audit defense; and
- Inventory accounting methods, specifically assisting with the application of Section 263A and the tax LIFO accounting rules.
Robert has been working over the past several years to build KPMG’s Southeast AMCS practice with team members in Atlanta, Tampa and Charlotte.
Other activities
- Robert has instructed KPMG national trainings on Technical Accounting Methods topics.
- Robert is an actively involved University of Tennessee alumni and currently sits on an Accounting Department Roundtable and the Haslam Young Alumni Board.
