In line with the current situation caused by COVID-19, the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia adopted several new Decrees with the force of law aimed at providing support and easing the operations during the state of emergency.
New Decree for application of the Law on Trade Companies
The Government adopted a New Decree published in the Official Gazette No. 123 dated 13 May 2020.
Some of the more relevant provisions of the Decree set out the following:
Decree for application of the Law on the Employment and Work of the Foreigners
The Decree was published in the Official Gazette No. 123 dated 13 May 2020 and provides for extension of the validity of expired work permits. The validity will be extended during the state of emergency and for additional 60 days as of the day of entering into force of the Decree. Also if the period for performance of the services by the foreigners related to purchase of goods, maintenance of equipment/assets has expired or expires during the state of emergency, this period shall be extended during the state of emergency and for additional 60 days as of the day of publishing of the Decree.
