Before attending university, Marina already knew that she wanted to pursue a career in IT and risk management. Marina completed a degree in IT engineering and later attended Kedge Business School in Bordeaux to complete a master’s in Enterprise Risk Management. Upon completion Marina joined KPMG Luxembourg in the information risk management department.

“After living in both Cameroon and France, I was looking for an international company where multiculturalism, diversity and human values were at the heart of every professional endeavor.

As an IT student, I was aiming to work in a company where gender equality and women leadership were effectively taken into consideration. And this was exactly the feeling I got from my first days at KPMG Luxembourg as a junior IT auditor.

Beside this, my goal was to be surrounded by highly passionate individuals to be able to grow faster, to push my personal boundaries and get out of my comfort zone.”

What do you like about your role at KPMG Luxembourg?

As an Assistant-Manager within the information risk management team, I work on IT audits for a broad range of clients. Our daily work is to analyze IT systems in relation to financial statements. In addition to IT audits, I am also involved in IT advisory engagements which include IT compliance reviews, IT risk management, information security and different projects.

What I really enjoy every day is the chance to collaborate with other KPMG offices and to develop technical and management skills, thanks to a very broad range of professional trainings and certifications.

Besides my core responsibilities, I also have the opportunity to be involved in KPMG initiatives around volunteering, women leadership, inclusion and diversity and corporate social responsibility.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career at KPMG Luxembourg?

Depending on your personality and background, it might be challenging at times. But there is no better place to grow, learn, network and find out who you really are professionally and personally.
