Stephen Wong

With over 20 years of experience, Stephen is an Executive Director at KPMG in Canada’s Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Corporate Tax practice. Stephen has extensive experience in the financial services industry and is known for his insights in the insurance industry. He is also a co-lead of KPMG’s IFRS 17 tax focus group.  

Stephen has assisted with domestic and cross-border tax due diligence of Canadian insurance companies, provision of advice and structuring of acquisition vehicles of multi-national life insurance clients and the development and implementation of offshore captive insurance structures. In addition, Stephen has led and supervised the tax provision audit of some of Canada’s largest multi-national companies and has presented at the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association on multiple occasions.
