KPMG in Belgium
Mike joined KPMG in 1998 and has a background in financial accounting and auditing, with extensive experience in audits of US GAAP, IFRS and Belgian GAAP financial statements, as well as in assurance on non-financial reports. In his capacity as a Belgian certified auditor since 2004 Mike brings substantial experience in providing both financial and non-financial assurance services to major KPMG clients. He covers all relevant aspects of corporate reporting and is able to deliver added value through experience with global clients. From 2005 to 2011 Mike has been one of the directors who established and strategically developed the Audit Committee Institute (ACI) in Belgium, which is by now in direct and regular contact with over 2500 national directors and audit committee members offering them the opportunity to gain the additional knowledge, enhanced competencies and personalized assistance they need to fulfill their demanding oversight roles and to address evolving corporate governance challenges.

Mike leads the Belgian KPMG Sustainability Assurance Practice since 2012 and is an active member of the Belgian Institute of External Auditors’ Commission on non-financial reporting and assurance. Mike regularly lectures on sustainability topics and has been involved in several publications such as `KPMG Survey of Corporate Societal Responsibility Reporting’.
