Job Advert - Finance Manager

Our client is an internationally recognised non-governmental organisation that specialises in the field of wilderness preservation and the reduction of human impact on the environment. With operations in over 100 countries around the world, our client is now looking to fill two positions open to adequately qualified and experienced professionals here in Zambia.

Finance Manager

Reports to: Country Director

Job description: Supervise and coordinate the development and implementation of policies, procedures and systems  including accounting, financial reporting, auditing, IT systems, budgeting, internal controls. Other functions include supporting  the Country Director in operational management and advising on opportunities for improvement as well as risk related issues; fund raising and financial reporting .

Required Qualifications 

•A university degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or related field; possession of an MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification would be an added advantage;

•Full accounting qualification, i.e., CIMA, ACCA, CA Zambia or equivalent;

•Over 7 years working experience with at least 3 years in a senior Finance and Accounting position preferably in a major international organisation/NGO;

•Demonstrated skills in developing, managing, and evaluating financial and administrative plans and policies;

•Experience with project level accounting, management and reporting;

•Strong experience supervising Accountants and working with government and cooperating partners;

•A thorough knowledge of, and dexterity with, accounting software's (Oracle or ACCPAC will be an added advantage);

•Experience working with international organizations involved in environmental and/or livelihood issues would be an advantage; and

•Member of ZICA.

People & Culture Manager

Reports to: Chief Operations Officer

Job description: The People and Culture Manager will be responsible for efficiently and effectively coordinating the implementation of the human resource initiatives, policies (training, onboarding, coaching and mentoring) and donor obligations in line with  priorities. Other functions include planning and budgeting and performing regular internal audits on field projects on  People and Culture issues.

Required Qualifications

•At least a Masters or equivalent, with courses relevant to human resource management, organizational psychology, or relevant social sciences;

•At least 8 years of prior work experience implementing human resources processes, systems and procedures in large not-for-profit organisations;

•Proven track record in Human Resources administration and management;

•Experience in procurement planning, product selection, risk management, negotiating prices and terms of payment, competitive bid document formulation, bid review, contract formulation, and logistics management;

•Experience working with an International NGO is an added advantage; and

•Membership of a relevant professional body would be a strong asset – particularly, the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.
