We are hiring.

Our client is an internationally recognised non-governmental organisation that specialises in the field of wilderness preservation and the reduction of human impact on the environment. With operations in over 100 countries around the world, our client is now looking to fill two positions open to adequately qualified and experienced professionals here in Zambia.

Finance and Operations Manager

Reports to: Country Director


Job description: Ensure sound financial management and drive operational excellence as well as supervising and coordinating the development and timely implementation of policies, procedures and systems for all financial support services including budget development and monitoring; developing financial sustainability plans such as fund raising and proposal development efforts; identifying risks and developing/implementing risk management strategies within the organisation.

Required Qualifications

  • A university degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or related field; possession of an MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification would be an added advantage;
  • Full accounting qualification, i.e., CIMA, ACCA, CIS or equivalent;
  • Over 7 years working experience with at least 3 years in a senior Finance and Accounting position preferably in a major international organisation/NGO.
  • Demonstrated skills in developing, managing, and evaluating financial and administrative plans and policies;
  • Experience with project level accounting, management and reporting;
  • Experience working with government and donors;
  • A thorough knowledge of, and dexterity with, accounting software's (ORACLE and ACCPAC will be an added advantage);
  • Experience working with international organizations involved in environmental and/or livelihood issues would be an advantage; and
  • Member of ZICA.

People and Culture Manager

Reports to: Country Director


Job description: The People and Culture Manager will be responsible for aligning the HR departments activities to the organisations annual conservation program targets to deliver impact via an equipped and competent team and systems. Other functions include management support and leading in matters concerning recruitment; development and retention of staff; lead advisor to the Country Director and his/her team in matters concerning people related risk management; coordination of performance planning and reporting in line with conservation and office outcome indicators.


Required Qualifications

  • Masters in Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology with Bachelor’s degree in related field;
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in HR;
  • Membership of a relevant professional body would be a strong asset;
  • Proven track record in Human Resources administration and management;
  • Knowledge of the institutional, legal and policy framework of employment and HR management in Zambia;
  • Experience working with an International NGO is an added advantage; and
  • Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resources Management.
