We are pleased to share the results of the first KPMG Southern Africa COVID-19 employee pulse survey. The report captures the views of more than 400 employees from over 58 organisations in Southern Africa who completed the survey during the months of May/June 2020.

The insights of employees from South Africa, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Eswatini and Mauritius, employed in over 20 industries are invaluable in tracking employees’ “pulse” and helping employers in Southern Africa understand how they can best support their employees.

The findings span five key areas shown below:

1.    Support and balance;

2.   Leadership;

3.   Communication;

4.   Remote work enablement; and

5.   On-site safety.
