Implementing KPMG’s Collective Action Plan which seeks to tackle injustice and inequality

Driving greater coordination and accountability to uphold KPMG’s I&D commitments

KPMG today announced the appointment of Kristine Remedios as Global Head of Inclusion and Diversity, effective April 1, 2021. Reporting to Nhlamu Dlomu, Global Head of People, Kristine will drive the Inclusion and Diversity agenda across the organization in 146 countries and territories, and spearhead the implementation of KPMG’s Collective Action Plan, a set of practical steps KPMG firms will take to tackle injustice and inequality.

“Inclusion and diversity are core to KPMG’s very existence—helping us build great teams with diverse views that represent the world we live in, while also encouraging us to stand up, live our values, and do what is right,” said Bill Thomas, Global Chairman and CEO of KPMG.  “Kristine will have my full support in ensuring KPMG accelerates our Inclusion and Diversity agenda across our organization while we look to help build a fairer, more equitable society.”

Kristine, having come to Canada as a refugee at a young age is a passionate advocate of Inclusion and diversity. As a wife and mother of two young children, creating an equitable world for future generations is core to her purpose.  With more than 25 years of experience, she has led innovative strategies, programs and partnerships that seek to support equity, diversity, inclusion and mental health.

Prior to this appointment, Kristine was the Chief Inclusion & Social Impact Officer, KPMG in Canada. She will continue to build on the achievements of Mary Lou Maher, who has led KPMG’s Global Inclusion and Diversity strategy since October 2017, alongside her role as Canadian Managing Partner of Quality and Risk, and will be retiring after a 38-year career with KPMG.

Kristine sits on the Diversity Council for the Top 100 Diversity Committees of the Women’s Executive Network and is a committee member of the Chief Inclusion Officer Forum for Ascend Canada, and the Inclusion Advisory Committee of the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council.
