KPMG International has been ranked #2 among the world's leading Google Cloud artificial intelligence (AI) service providers in a new HFS Research report.

The HFS Top 10 Google AI Services 2019 report (PDF 1.14 MB) assessed and ranked 14 leading global service providers based on Innovation capability, Ability to execute and Voice of the customer criteria.

The report commends KPMG for being “all in” on its Google Cloud alliance and for establishing a “symbiotic relationship” with Google Cloud while “proactively investing in AI.” The report also spotlights key KPMG initiatives such as its global Google Cloud Innovation Lab dedicated to experimenting and innovating with Google Cloud products, and KPMG's Lighthouse Global Center of Excellence for leading KPMG's Google Cloud AI adoption.

In addition to being ranked #2 overall among Google Cloud AI service providers, KPMG was ranked #1 for:

  • Depth and breadth of its Google Cloud AI service offerings, in the Ability to execute category;
  • Google Cloud AI strategy and roadmap, plus technology innovation, in the Innovation category.

KPMG was ranked #2 for: Delivery of value, under Ability to execute; Focus on business outcomes and process transformation, under Innovation; and Voice of the customer.

Report author Reetika Fleming, HFS Research Vice President, notes that leading Google Cloud AI service providers such as KPMG member firms are playing a “critical role” today in building solutions with Google Cloud developers and with clients that are ready for AI. As a Top 10 Google Cloud AI service provider, Fleming adds that KPMG is among market-leading organizations that have “demonstrated a leading execution capability for Google Cloud AI services, focused on driving innovation in this emerging market in collaboration with Google Cloud, and has the voice of the customer shaping their performance in our study.”

“The recognition by HFS is a testament to our commitment to Google Cloud this past year,” said Brad Fisher, Head of KPMG Global Lighthouse and a partner with KPMG in the US. “KPMG member firms noted strengths in strategy, innovation, alongside the depth and breadth of offerings, and our focused, collaborative effort with Google Cloud helps differentiate how clients can navigate complex roadmaps to the cloud. The ability to combine KPMG's strong AI IP in tools and capabilities with the secure, robust, scalable Google Cloud Platform (GCP) allows KPMG professionals to focus on solving real-world business problems.”

“This is further demonstration that KPMG member firms are truly keeping our commitment to help clients rapidly advance their digital business strategies,” he added.

The HFS report highlights key strengths that KPMG brings to the market today, including:

  • Staying ahead of the curve on AI: “KPMG doesn't take the back seat when it comes to R&D and investment.”
  • Strategically combining internal IP with Google Cloud capabilities: “KPMG has proven judicious in knowing when to make use of its own Ignite platform or deferring to ready-made Google Cloud AI offerings.”
  • A clear division of responsibilities according to strengths: A “thriving working relationship” allows KPMG to “kick-start complex AI solutions for clients” while Google Cloud can accelerate sales;
  • A robust and practical joint go-to-market (GTM) strategy: “KPMG invests heavily in ensuring that its internal IP meshes well with Google Cloud's capabilities to maintain a coherent GTM.”

KPMG's alliance with Google Cloud is helping member firm clients to digitally transform their business and operating models with secure cloud computing, machine learning (ML), and workforce mobility technologies. Key KPMG services include digital business strategy, data transformation and monetization, IT modernization including DevOps, business change management, governance and risk controls, cloud-enabled managed services and the creation of new platform businesses.
