KPMG has been recognized as a global ”Leader” and one of the top firms in the space in the recently released 'Sourcing Strategy Consulting' report by ALM Intelligence. The report assesses the consulting providers' capability to get results for clients, based on the combination of their depth and breadth and factoring the degree of engagement model complexity incurred across industry sectors and geographic regions. KPMG was seen as one of a few select organizations to earn the prestigious Vanguard Leader recognition.

In characterizing KPMG's strengths, ALM stated, “With strong foundational frameworks for sourcing and procurement functions, KPMG effectively devises and implements sourcing strategies that make optimal use of data and analytics to improve decision making capability with a keen awareness of potential risk. The firm's extensive thought leadership and research ensures clients are taking advantage of the latest trends in operating models, digital tools, and supplier relationships to create a lean function that is integrated into overarching business strategies.”

'Best-in-Class' in Operating System

ALM rated KPMG 'Best-in-Class' in Operating System “built on strong operating model foundations developed through its Powered Procurement framework, KPMG offers strong advisory in the smart application of analytics and operations processes to create agile sourcing strategies with improved automation capabilities and integrated supplier relationships.”

The report also states “KPMG's approach to sourcing strategy seeks to capitalize on new procurement operating models, provided through the firm's Powered Procurement framework. With the ultimate goal of a connected enterprise, the firm works with clients to improve transparency in spending and supplier relationship management while also finding efficiencies through thoughtful category management.”

“CEOs are looking to the procurement function to take on a broader and deeper set of strategic responsibilities than ever before,” said Brian Higgins, Head of Procurement and Operations Advisory, KPMG in the U.S. “This includes defining and implementing a sourcing strategy that will not only work for the business, but be able to quickly shift and change with market dynamics. KPMG's strategic procurement approach and depth helps our clients to drive value for their organizations and take sourcing to a new level.”

The report noted KPMG's strengths across several areas including Operating System, Management System, External Market Insight, Strategy, Project Management and Enabling tools. “KPMG's sourcing strategy advisory is centered on digital innovations and operating model designs that seek to create better supplier and customer relationship focused organizations while also using data and analytics to drive faster decision making in order to be more responsive in the connected enterprise to customer demand. Taking advantage of advances in automation and analytics, KPMG assists clients in category management innovation, linking category demand and cost to business activities, creating zero-based category cost budgets for financial management and utilizing should-cost modeling to inform purchasing decisions.”

“Organizations are continuously looking for ways to be more efficient and agile across their supply chain. They understand that this is critical in providing the level of customer experience that their clients expect today” - said Chris Foster, Global Head of Operations Advisory at KPMG International. “Our teams work with clients across the entire scope of their operations to help them become leaner and better equipped. The goal --to outmatch their customers' expectations.”
