KPMG among the “highly scaled data and analytics practices leading the discussions on the use of intelligent automation technologies…and driving business outcomes for smart analytics”

KPMG International has been recognized as a leading service provider, earning the “Winner's Circle” designation in the newly published HfS Blueprint Report, Smart Analytics. Among the nine providers achieving the Smart Analytics Winners Circle status, KPMG ranked among the top three organizations.

The periodic HfS Smart Analytics Blueprint is an analysis of the enterprise analytics services capabilities of smart analytics service providers and assesses achievement in innovation and execution in three key areas: organizational processes and culture, talent acquisition and retention, and technologies and ecosystems.

The report examines services across the “data-to-insight lifecycle such as analytics consulting, data management, reporting and visualization, and advanced analytics”. The study also charts service provider innovation such as the use of “automation, mobility and cloud to improve analytics outcomes” and how providers are nurturing talent to help clients transform their businesses and generate value.

“KPMG's Global Lighthouse Center of Excellence for Data & Analytics and Intelligent Automation has clearly demonstrated a vision for and investment in the evolution of smart analytics,” said Reetika Fleming, HfS Research Director, Insurance, Smart Analytics & AI.  “This is evidenced by the breadth and depth of their industry solutions, their well-developed ecosystem and a strong platform strategy.”

According to the HfS Smart Analytics report, KPMG's strengths include:

  • “Scale and repeatability of solutions. KPMG drives scalability in smart analytics through its use of open source tools, libraries, and APIs that it uses through its platforms, along with its own accelerators, frameworks, and models that clients believe are practical implementations of emerging technology.”
  • “Focus on automation. KPMG has a comprehensive view of how automation technologies come together with data and analytics. Its Ignite and Lighthouse platforms integrate smart analytics with RPA, AI, and other emerging technologies into more bundled solutions for clients.”
  • “Strong network of partners, alliances, and consortia. KPMG has built a formidable ecosystem of strategic alliances and partners such as Microsoft, IBM, and Google. As an example, Microsoft alliance partners believe KPMG to be highly strategic to their success in analytics and AI, earning the service provider early access to strategy and technology decisions.”
  • “Cross-industry experience with a reputation for finance and accounting. While KPMG has breadth of capabilities across industry verticals and horizontal data and analytics, it has particularly gained a reputation with clients and partners as an industry thought leader in finance and accounting.”

Thomas Erwin, Global Head of the Lighthouse Center of Excellence for Data & Analytics and Intelligent Automation and a partner with KPMG in Germany said: “This designation attests to KPMG's commitment to a business-first, issues-led approach to helping our member firms' clients transform their business by combining data-driven technologies and capabilities with KPMG's integrated global network and deep domain expertise. And most importantly, ensuring trust in analytics is becoming a defining factor in an organization's success.”
