Happy Pride Month 2021!

Inclusion and diversity is core to who we are at KPMG. It helps us build great teams and encourages us to stand up, live our Values, and do what is right. In celebration of Pride Month 2021, we’re focusing on allyship and its power to drive a more inclusive future.

Strengthening our inclusive culture so that our entire LGBTQ+ community feel safe and advocated for is a priority for KPMG and it is central to our Inclusion & Diversity Collective Action Plan. We are also a proud supporter of the Partnership for Global LGBTI Equality, a Coalition Partner of Open for Business and a sponsor of WorldPride 2021 which takes place in Copenhagen, Denmark and Malmö, Sweden from 12–22 August 2021.

What is an ally?

Embracing diversity and inclusion means creating a workplace where our people, clients and members of our communities feel safe to identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community or to be an ally to others. At KPMG, we define an ally as any person who supports, empowers, or stands up for another person or a group of people. Being an ally sends a loud and clear message: “I embrace diversity, address barriers and stand for inclusion.” Being an ally is also a demonstration of us living our Values.

How our Values come to life through allyship

Integrity: We show up for others, even when it feels uncomfortable

Excellence: We seek to understand others’ challenges and lived experiences

Courage: We speak up and encourage others to do the same

Together: We lead with empathy

For better: We invest in allyship for the long-term

“Earlier in my career, openly identifying as gay was not an option. But I then found my way into organizations who embrace the diversity of their people. Now, at KPMG, I feel like I have found my voice, and I truly feel valued.”

“Anybody could do five things today to be a better ally. Listen to a podcast, read a book, inform yourself and have conversations with family and friends. Then you can take the next step and start to become an ally who goes out and influences others.”
