  • A decree (No. 729 of 2018) from the Ministry of Finance requires taxpayers to update their tax information with the Egyptian tax authority, and replaces “taxpayer’s file number” with “tax registration number.”
  • A decree (No, 744 of 2018) requires “registered taxpayers” to file tax returns through a government portal.
  • A decree (No. 695 of 2018) requires monthly value added tax (VAT) declarations.
  • A decree (No. 760 of 2018) includes requirements for electronic payments of certain taxes and customs duties.

In addition, there is a new law (Law No. 2 of 2018) concerning comprehensive health insurance.
