Canadian financial institutions will have to provide their first Common Reporting Standard (CRS) report to the CRA by May 1, 2018.
This report for the second half of the 2017 calendar year, which must include information on financial accounts held by tax residents of jurisdictions outside of Canada and the United States, should generally be based on CRS self-certifications that financial institutions received (or should have received) from July 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017.
