There is a new process for filing federal tax returns and other information reporting returns—including social security filings for workers in Brazil.
The new process—contained in Instrução Normativa RFB nº 1.787 / 2018—was published in February 2018 and replaces a prior process with digital, web-based filings. Included in the new guidelines are measures concerning digital signatures, digital bookkeeping systems, and due-date and related requirements for monthly filings via the new web-based platform (Declaração de Débitos e Créditos Tributários Federais Previdenciários e de Outras Entidades e Fundos or “DCTF Web”).
Taxpayers that do not comply with these new procedures may be subject to penalties.
