Serbia: Changes to corporate income tax, VAT, individual tax laws

Tax law changes in Serbia

The Serbian Parliament in session on 14 December 2017 approved amendments to the corporate income tax, value added tax (VAT), and individual (personal) income tax laws.

The provisions generally have an effective date of 1 January 2018. 


The corporate income tax law measures include changes concerning:

  • Tax depreciation of intangible assets and fixed assets 
  • Write-off of bank receivables 
  • Withholding tax for services of non-resident entities
  • Regulation of specific types of services 
  • Revised due date for filing the tax return for withholding tax 
  • Simplification of the transfer pricing rules  
  • Investment incentives
