Brazil: Codes of accounts, cost centers in registry

New guidance requires taxpayers to identify codes of accounts and cost centers in relation to revenue and credit amounts.

The new version of the guidance—Guia Prático da EFD-Contribuições (versão 1.22)—requires the inclusion of information on the codes and the names of the accounts in a specific registry (Registo 0500: Plano de Contas Contábeis).The account code must be entered for the corresponding revenue or credit fields. The completion of these new fields will relate to the determination of certain taxes including social contributions (PIS, Pasep and COFINS) and for certain entities, income tax.
