Mauritius: Alternative tax dispute resolution panel

The Mauritius Revenue Authority issued a communique announcing that an alternative tax dispute resolution panel has been established to deal with taxpayer challenges to assessments of tax.

There are certain minimum requirements for a challenge to be considered by the alternative dispute resolution panel, such as the amount of the tax assessment (the disputed amount must exceed MUR 10 million). Qualifying tax disputes will be expedited, and it is expected at lower costs than disputes challenged in other venues.
