Francisco Uría is Senior Partner KPMG Abogados (Spain) and is also the EMA Head of Financial Services, Banking & Capital Markets. Francisco is qualified lawyer and holds a Doctorate of Law (Banking Regulation) from the Complutense University of Madrid. Prior to joining KPMG, he was a State Attorney in the State Secretariat of Economy, the State Tax Administration Agency and the State Attorney General. Francisco has held positions as Technical General Secretary of the Ministry of Development (1999-2000), Technical Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance (2000-2002), Deputy Minister of Finance (2002-2004), Deputy Secretary General and Head of the Legal Department of the Spanish Banking Association (AEB) (2004-2010).
