Alfonso is the Latin America Head of Markets for Tax. He joined KPMG in Spain in 1999, where he was a member of the International Tax Group, advising clients in both inbound and outbound transactions. Since 2005, he has been based in the US, were he has led several multi-jurisdiction tax restructurings in the LATAM region. In addition, Alfonso was a member of the Iberoamerica Tax Force, a markets program that brought together key Latin American countries, along with Spain and Portugal, through a go-to-markets initiative. Alfonso has extensive experience in many areas of taxation, including group financing, holding and IP structures, cross-border and general business restructurings. Alfonso is a frequent speaker in conferences throughout the region on different matters of taxation, including international tax restructuring and reinsurance. He publishes regularly on international tax issues, including articles for International Tax Review and Global Reinsurance Magazine.
