Marni Halpern

With over 20 years of experience, Marni is an Executive Director at KPMG in Canada’s Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Global Mobility Services (GMS) practice. She also specializes in Canada and US payroll compliance.

Marni’s extensive experience includes the management of expatriate programs, development and implementation of her clients’ global service plan, and assisting clients with payroll and reporting requirements for inbound and outbound individuals from both Canada and the US.

In addition, Marni is the leader of the GMS payroll consulting team. Her and her team’s responsibilities include Canadian and US payroll compliance, non-resident certification and business traveler tracking, payroll withholding and reporting requirements, taxable benefit determination, deferred compensation reporting, and social security planning.

On top of her work experience, Marni has written two articles for the HR Reporter focusing on payroll requirements for Canadian and US business travelers.
