Mark is the National Sector Leader for Technology, Media, and Telecommunications for KPMG U.S.  He has been the Office Managing Partner of the Seattle office of KPMG since 2011, a role he will continue in until his successor is named.

With over 30 years of experience working with companies in the Seattle area, Mark as has served clients in the technology, consumer products and retail industries, currently serving as the Account Executive for several large clients in the market. In this role, Mark works with KPMG teams across audit, tax and advisory in over 15 countries.  

Mark spent the first 28 years of his career in the audit function, transitioning to advisory in 2019, giving him a unique cross-functional viewpoint and depth of experience. From 2002 through 2005, Mark was based in KPMG’s New York office and played an integral role in the firm’s adoption of the provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and the development of the firm’s methodology for the audit of internal controls over financial reporting.

Mark has a deep commitment to KPMG’s values and culture, including a passion for supporting the community. He serves on the boards of Junior Achievement of Washington and the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business. Gibson is a former board member of The Seattle Foundation, having served from 2011-2020.
