Based in the Tokyo office, Tatsuya is a Tax Partner and the head of Family Business in KPMG in Japan. He has been with Andersen/KPMG for more than 30 years. Since he joined KPMG in 2002, he has served family businesses especially on their cross border Inheritance and Gift tax matters. Before, during his career as a tax advisor at Andersen, he was also a member of Family Business Tax Advisory group. Tatsuya explains : “I believe that KPMG in Japan as one of the Big 4 international accounting firms has a lot of opportunities to serve the family businesses in Japan. There are about 3 million non-listed family business corporations in Japan, most of them are small/medium sized corporations however they are becoming more international. Their concerns among others today are succession, related tax including international tax and M&A.”
