“Doing business in a sustainable way is not about changing the world, it’s about running a good business and making a positive imprint on society and the planet,” says Arjan.
Arjan is convinced that for companies to succeed in the future, they must embrace sustainability otherwise they will cease to exist.
Since earning an MBA in Environmental Business Administration, Arjan has dedicated his career to helping businesses measure and address their economic, social and environmental impacts. He joined KPMG in 2000 and was one of the architects of KPMG True Value—KPMG’s own impact measurement and valuation service. He is the Global Leader for KPMG True Value as well as Managing Partner for KPMG Sustainability Services in the Netherlands.
Outside work, Arjan works with a social enterprise to help people from disadvantaged backgrounds join or re-enter the workforce. He also teaches sustainability strategy, management and reporting at the Rotterdam School of Management.
