As a senior international Tax Partner and Global Head of the Energy and Natural Resources Tax practice, André also supervises the integration of open IT Standards in the business of KPMG Meijburg & Co. He has focused primarily on structuring the operations of multi-national corporations in the Netherlands, US, Germany and the UK. André has advised domestic and foreign clients on cross-border and multi-jurisdiction taxable and tax-free acquisitions and dispositions and has represented taxpayers in arbitrage, competent authority proceedings and tax litigation. Since 2012, André has headed KPMG’s Global Energy Tax Team, which includes lead partners working with major global clients. André holds a law degree from Groningen University and is a former lecturer at the Groningen University Faculty of Law and present lecturer at the Leiden University International Tax LLM Program. He is a frequent speaker and writer on international income issues and author of a standard book on the avoidance of double taxation in the Netherlands. He is a former member of the IFA executive committee, the Dutch association of tax lawyers (NOB), XBRL International, and former chairman of the Dutch IFA branch.
