Associate Director, Global Mobility Services

Location: Ho Chi Minh

In Vietnam, KPMG is one of the largest professional services firms, with over 1300 staffs working from our offices in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Hanoi. We work with our colleagues across Asia and around the world to provide professional services for either international or domestic client.

KPMG Vietnam’s Global Mobility Services (GMS) business helps our clients through the whole compliance cycle from briefings to tax return preparation and correspondence with the tax authorities. Through employment tax services we identify and resolve payroll tax issues early and assist on Payroll and Payroll related services.  We provide tax advisory for all PIT and SHUI related matters. 

We offer immigration services to help obtain necessary visa, work and residences permits, as well as determine applicable visa category. We advise on immigration topics and processes.  We support on due diligence services and tax health checks to identify issues that could result in unexpected financial consequences for a company.

We are currently seeking Managers and Associate Directors to join our GMS Tax practice. The caliber of our
clients and business practices will give you the opportunity to strengthen your analytical skills, effective communication skills and engagement management skills as you help our clients manage their people from both a mobility and tax perspective.



- Support Partners and Directors in developing relationships with clients and targets to gain an understanding of their businesses and identify potential opportunities for GMS and across all our tax services

- Leading multiple engagements of varying size and complexity

- Advising clients on PIT and immigration matters

- Leading teams to transition GMS programs and PIT compliance to KPMG

- Coach and develop team members to successfully deliver value in mobility and tax services to our clients

- Reviewing PIT finalization returns produced by your client team

- Contribute to continuous improvement of in-house systems and processes


- Bachelor degree in relevant subjects, e.g. Human resources, accounting, finance, economics, law

- At least 6 years relevant experience in either external and/or internal tax or HR function

- Competent and literate with the following packages: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

- Excellent technical knowledge of and experience in Personal Income Tax advisory and compliance.  A working knowledge of immigration matters is preferred

- Ability to work with international assignees of many different nationalities

Strong organizational, time management skills and effective communication skills

- Ability to work and perform under pressure with tight deadlines

- A proven track record in developing and maintaining relationships at various levels

- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to motivate and lead teams to achieving an outcome

- A true leadership approach and previous experience mentoring junior mobility consultants

- Demonstrated strategic and innovative thinking skills with the ability to develop tailored solutions to address complex needs

- Self-motivated with a high level of initiative

- Strong command of written and oral English and Vietnamese
