KPMG is recruiting an Assistant Manager in their Operations Consulting, to work with client facing teams under the guidance of Managers/ Associate Directors/ Directors. The individual’s role includes spearheading small internal client facing teams on client engagements and guide them to solution / delivery by executing the tasks that are part of overall assignment; lead modules of the engagement in small parts; interact with and present ideas / new perspectives to senior client personnel. Play a role in business development activities of the firm by identifying potential clients, prepare proposals and commercial bids. Contribute in preparation of points of view / intellectual property for the Management Consulting practice across domains and industrial sectors.


General Responsibilities

- Work in an agile team to deliver rapid performance improvement, operations and business transformation projects for our clients across sectors and industries

- Participate in managing enterprise-wide business & operations transformation projects which require the involvement of a number of work streams across KPMG

- Conduct primary and secondary market research to aid engagement execution, as needed

- Use data analytics to identify opportunities to improve client's business and operational performance

- Find innovative ways to visualize data and deliver insights to our clients

- Prepare and deliver presentations across projects and client deliverables.

- Participate in business development activities, including supporting in organizing events / webinars / trainings

- Cooperate with other KPMG teams to ensure the deadline and commitment of projects

- Oversee and guide junior staff in delivering work up to client's expectations

- Provide timely feedback and coaching to other team members and contribute to a collaborative and innovative team culture

- Other tasks required (i.e. internal performance enhancement projects, research, assist in thought leadership publication, etc.)

Domain Experience

We are looking at hiring an individual with experience in specific domain as indicated below. 


Procurement & Supplier development

‒ The individual should have managed the procurement function (direct or indirect) across any of the manufacturing industries

‒ Should be familiar with the procurement process as well as in conducting techno-commercial evaluation while sourcing of direct materials / indirect materials

‒ Should have experience or familiarity with supplier development activities like supplier performance evaluation, supplier training and coaching for capability enhancement

‒ Should be familiar with Lean manufacturing tools

‒ Should have knowledge of tools / levers / concepts like strategic sourcing, global sourcing, e-sourcing, make / buy evaluation, early vendor involvement etc. 

‒ Knowledge of using e-sourcing tools like Ariba, Coupa, Hubwoo (preferred) 

‒ Having led procurement cost optimization / procurement process optimization projects and preferably been a part of large-scale procurement optimization initiatives.

‒ Should have a very good technical understanding of products and manufacturing conditions in different industry sectors

‒ Experience working with global buyers and / or Vietnamese suppliers is an advantage

‒ Knowledge of one or more direct material technologies like castings, forgings, sheet metal, tube parts fabrication is an advantage

‒ Good knowledge of costing mechanism (Zero based, Activity based] and Total Cost of Ownership evaluation 

‒ Certified professionals (Lean Six Sigma Black Belt / Green Belt / other relevant certification) will be an added advantage


The Individual

• The individual should bring relevant work experience in the above domain or should have prior/current consulting work experience.

• Demonstrate an analytical mindset, critical and innovative thinking

• Demonstrate confidence, people skills and a collaborative attitude

• Excellent interpersonal skills with “can-do” mindset with fast learning ability

• The individual should be well versed with data analysis using excel. Experience with analytical tools such as Alteryx, Python, PowerBI, Tableau or Qlik Sense is a plus

• The individual should be good at analyzing financial statements, and providing a point of view / insights

• Problem solving skills to meet client needs using a blend of intuition and analysis, have a balance between strategic and operational focus 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Vietnamese, fluency in other language is a plus

• Proficient at MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• The individual should be able to interact with the clients across levels and work in teams.

• Willing to travel and work out of remote client locations


Qualifications :

• MBA/PGDBM/PGDM (full time) + a bachelor’s degree in engineering / MBA-Tech from premier institutes only

• Assistant Manager -  3-5 years of work experience in the industry or consulting experience

• Experience in supporting multinational private sector brands in business expansion, which may include their supply chain management, supplier development, commercial contracting, sales, or business development
