The firm also achieved “Best of the Best” rankings in several “Best Practices” categories including Retention, APA Employee Resource Group, Recruitment & Selection, and Market Opportunities.

This is the eighth consecutive year that KPMG was recognized in multiple categories for its culture of inclusion.

“A workplace culture should ensure that everyone has the opportunity to succeed and achieve their full potential,” said Sue Townsen, KPMG’s Chief Diversity Officer. “KPMG is honored to be recognized by the Asia Society for having an inclusive culture and being named the best place for Asian Americans to work and build a career.”

KPMG has several significant programs focused on the development needs of its APA professionals:

In 2016, APIN’s networking, mentoring, community service, and other activities helped increase membership by 26 percent. It now boasts over 2,800 members and 21 chapters across the country.
  • The Asian Pacific Islander Network Advisory Board focuses on connecting Asian C-level executives with APIN members to cultivate business relationships and develop career- enriching opportunities for members.
  • APIN Leadership Development Series provides 60 high-performing senior managers and directors of Asian-Pacific descent with leadership and business skills development each year and mentoring relationships with retired KPMG partners.
  • Recruiting teams covering both campus and experienced hires place considerable emphasis on recruiting a diverse workforce, and strive to continually increase the pool of qualified diverse candidates.

The Asia Society selects honorees based on the quality of their APA workforce initiatives and the results from the Asia Society’s 2017 Asian Pacific Americans Corporate Survey, the only published initiative to exclusively measure the leadership success of APAs at Fortune 500-level companies.
