The tax authority of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) published guidance—the UAE Cabinet of Ministers’ Decision No. 99 of 2022—to amend the UAE VAT executive regulations.

The current amendments would change the applicable rules to supplies made by independent directors and introduce new recordkeeping and reporting requirements for e-commerce. The amended provisions are scheduled to become effective from 1 January 2023.
