Updated tax relief deadline of September 30, 2022, and incident name

The IRS has extended previously announced tax relief for taxpayers in New Mexico affected by wildfires and straight-line winds and flooding, mudflows, and debris flows beginning April 5, 2022.

According to today’s release—NM-2022-05 (updated August 1, 2022)—affected taxpayers now have until September 30, 2022, to file various individual and business tax returns and to make tax payments.

The IRS previously announced tax relief for individuals and households affected by wildfires and straight-line winds residing in or having a business in five counties in New Mexico (Colfax, Lincoln, Mora, San Miguel, and Valencia).  Read TaxNewsFlash
