A bill that aims to reduce excessive regulatory burden on businesses approved

The National Council of Slovakia approved "Kilečko 2," a bill that aims to reduce the excessive regulatory burden on businesses in Slovakia that were economically affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Read TaxNewsFlash

The new measures are effective 1 September 2022 (originally effective 1 May 2022).

Only a few provisions were not approved, including:

  • The possibility of the electricity supplier to offset the electricity customer’s overpayment with the due receivable (or some other way of settling mutual receivables by agreement of the contracting parties)
  • The obligation to publish price decisions and data—in the area of regulation of network industries—on economically justified costs related to regulated activities
