Guidance clarifies deadline for filing annual income tax returns for the 2021 tax year

The Bureau of Internal Revenue has issued the following guidance:

  • Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 42-2022 (12 April 2022) clarifies the deadline for filing annual income tax returns for the tax year ended 31 December 2021 is 18 April 2022, and provides guidelines for filing and payment.
  • Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 43-2022 (12 April 2022) provides guidelines on the non-imposition of surcharge on amended tax returns.
  • Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 44-2022 (12 April 2022) prescribes additional guidelines in the filing of annual income tax returns and payment of tax due thereon for the 2021 tax year.
