Spain: MLI ratified, income tax treaties to be modified

The MLI will modify certain income tax treaties within Spain’s tax treaty network.

The MLI will modify certain income tax treaties within Spain’s tax treaty network.

Spain deposited an instrument of ratification of the “Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent Base Erosion and Profit Shifting” (Multilateral Instrument or MLI) so that with regard to Spain, the MLI will enter into force 1 January 2022.

Accordingly, the MLI will modify certain income tax treaties within Spain’s tax treaty network.
