Cambodia: Safety inspections of imported new vehicles; application deadline for expatriate staff employees
Implementation of safety inspections of imported new vehicles
Application deadline for expatriate staff employees
The Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation issued guidance (Notice No. 2019 MISTI/2021) regarding implementation of safety inspections of imported new vehicles.
To manage product safety, all companies, factories, enterprises, and importers of new vehicles into Cambodia are required to apply for a safety certification for each imported new vehicle.
Inspectors also will conduct inspections at factories, dealerships, and distributors currently present in the Cambodian market to confirm they meet safety standards.
Extension of application deadline, expatriate employees for 2022
Factories and enterprises that employ expatriate staff must submit an application for the annual “foreign manpower quota.” The due date for the application is generally no later than the end of November in each calendar year preceding the year of application.
For 2022, the deadline for the application regarding expatriate employees has been extended to 31 January 2022 (from 30 November 2021).
