GCC member states to trade as a unit and to increase their international trade

The Gulf Cooperative Council (GCC) member states launched a new electronic system—an e-platform—with an intention to ease the trade procedures between the GCC member states and other countries under a new free trade agreement.

The intention is for the GCC member states to trade as a unit and to increase their international trade from 5% to 30% by 2028.

The anticipated implementation date is not yet settled but expected to be in late 2021 or early 2022.
