Deadline for validating unused withholding tax credit notes is 30 June 2021

The deadline for validating and uploading unused withholding tax credit notes to an online portal is 30 June 2021.

The Federal Inland Revenue Service issued guidance concerning how taxpayers are to validate their unused withholding tax credits. The intent is to allow for full automation of the withholding tax administration.

Information Circular No. 2021/07 sets forth the guidelines for validating unused withholding tax credit notes. Pursuant to these guidelines, taxpayers with unused withholding tax credit notes for periods up to 31 May 2020 must submit these credit notes to the tax administration’s offices between 1 April 2021 and 30 June 2021 for validation and uploading to the online filing portal (TaxPro-Max portal).
