KPMG LLP has prepared a reference guide for use by tax-exempt organizations to assist them as they prepare and file Form 990 for the 2020 tax year.

The KPMG reference guide, annotated Form 990 [PDF 7.4 MB] (June 2021) highlights modifications to the to the 2020 Form 990-series returns, schedules, and corresponding instructions (as well as the Form 4720 and instructions) for tax years beginning in 2020, and includes commentary on changes from the prior year’s versions of the forms.
