Updated guidance with respect to FATCA and the common reporting standard (CRS) regimes

Germany’s central tax office (BZSt) released updated guidance with respect to FATCA and the common reporting standard (CRS) regimes.

  • The FATCA guidance includes an update to the U.S.- EmpfangsbestätigungAnFI (UEFI) document and provides UEFI XML schema 2.5. Read a June 2021 report [PDF 559 KB] prepared by the KPMG member firm in Germany

  • The CRS guidance contains the following updates:
    • A final state exchange list for 2021 (reflecting changes to the final list as compared to the provisional state exchange list released in February 2021)
    • Newly added countries (Albania, New Caledonia, Oman, and Peru) the final state exchange list of 2021
    • No deadline extension for the 2020 reporting period, with information to be submitted by 31 July 2021
