Finland: Updated FATCA and CRS technical guidance

The tax administration of Finland issued an updated version (v2.3) of FATCA technical guidance and an updated version (v2.3) of common reporting standard (CRS) technical guidance.


The FATCA technical guidance include:

  • An updated section on account holder structures, individual and account holder structures, and organization related to the U.S. taxpayer identification number (TIN) for situations when the TIN of the U.S. account holder is not known by the financial institution at the time of reporting
  • An updated section related to the verification that prevents notification if an error or omission in the information is detected

The CRS technical guidance includes:

  • Changes related to checks made by the notifier related to the address or city
