Australia: JobKeeper payment scheme ends 28 March 2021 (COVID-19)

Australia: JobKeeper payment scheme ends 28 March 2021

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) issued a reminder that the JobKeeper payment scheme will end 28 March 2021, and that businesses must file their February 2021 monthly business declarations by 14 March 2021.

The JobKeeper program was established to provide employment-related relief in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Businesses that are not already receiving the JobKeeper payment are still able to check eligibility and enroll at any time until the program closes.

According to the ATO release, businesses still requiring assistance once the JobKeeper payment ends need to check eligibility for the JobMaker hiring credit.

Other guidance for businesses is available from the ATO in the Getting help during Coronavirus (COVID-19) guide.
