Singapore: CRS registration deadline is 31 March 2021

The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) announced that the common reporting standard (CRS) registration deadline for entities that became a “reporting Singapore financial institution” between 1 January 2020 and 31 December 2020 (both dates inclusive) is 31 March 2021.

  • IRAS reminded taxpayers about the use of CRS XML schema version 2.0, beginning 1 February 2021.
  • All CRS files—including new, nil, corrected or deletion in XML format, including returns related to reporting years from 2017 to 2019—must be submitted according to CRS XML schema version 2.0 beginning 1 February 2021.

Further, reporting Singapore financial institutions submitting CRS returns using a fillable PDF form must use CRS fillable PDF form version 2.0, effective 1 February 2021.
