Hong Kong: Updated AEOI guidance

The Inland Revenue Department issued updated guidance on the automatic exchange of information (AEOI) regime.


The updated information provides updated guides on return-filing, data preparation, and registration.

  • Concerning the updated return-filing guide, there is new information about how to upload the data file; when no data file is attached to the return; about how to make amendments when misleading, false or inaccurate information is discovered; and how to upload an amended data file.
  • Concerning the updated user guide related to the data preparation tool, there are step-by-step instructions for using the data preparation tool.
  • Concerning the updated registration guide, there are step-by-step instructions about how to register with the AEOI portal and the information required for registration.
