India: Tax deadline extensions included in legislation
Legislation—the Taxation and Other Laws (Relaxation and Amendment of Certain Provisions) Bill, 2020—passed by the Lok Sabha on 19 September 2020, provides extended due dates as relief measures in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Various tax-related due dates have been extended to 31 December 2020, and certain other actions required to be completed during the period falling between 20 March 2020 to 31 December 2020 have generally been extended to 31 March 2021.
