Guidance on telecommunications company mergers
Guidance from the authority in Cambodia that regulates the telecommunication sector addresses the rules for telecommunication company mergers, company or share acquisitions, or the creation of security rights defined in permits, certificates or licenses.
The guidance provides:
- For company mergers, company or share acquisitions, or the creation of security rights defined in permits, certificates or licenses, telecommunications operators must obtain the approval from the telecommunications regulatory authority.
- For changing the company name or address, telecommunications operators must obtain permission from the telecommunications regulatory authority and pay a fee.
- Telecommunications operators must notify the regulatory authority on changes to the articles of association or changes with regard to executives, officers, and board members.
- Information about shareholders, the board of directors, executives, and others must be submitted to the regulatory authority on a yearly basis, before the end of the year.
