U.S. product exclusions regarding imports from China
U.S. product exclusions regarding imports from China
The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) today released for publication in the Federal Register two notices concerning the Section 301 investigation of China’s acts, policies, and practices related to technology transfer, intellectual property, and innovation.
The United States imposed additional customs duties on imported products from China. However, exclusions from imposition of the additional customs duties were allowed for certain products, as requested by U.S. entities.
- The first notice [PDF 214 KB] announces the USTR’s determination (set out in an annex to the notice) to correct technical errors in previously announced product exclusions. The amendments announced in the notice are retroactive to the date of publication of the original exclusions.
- The second notice [PDF 409 KB] announces the USTR’s determination to make a technical amendment to a previously granted product exclusion. The technical amendment announced in this USTR notice is effective retroactively to the date when the original exclusion was published.
