Sweden: New obligations for employers, foreign workers

New requirements are being imposed on employers who assign workers to Sweden.

Beginning 30 July 2020, the employment rights for workers posted to Sweden will be more comprehensive. Additionally, there are new compliance requirements for both the foreign employer as well as for the recipient of the worker’s services in Sweden.

Among the changes are measures concerning remuneration and expenses paid to the worker assigned to work in Sweden. The new measures require foreign employers to report every employment posting to the Swedish authority and to appoint a contact person in Sweden.
